Bronze & Blackening Solution

For use on Copper and Silver.

Mix 1-2 fluid oz of Concentrate to 1 gal water depending on degree of effect required. Use at room temperature. Dip item into solution for 5-10 seconds, longer for darker effect. Rinse to stop coloring effect.

Varying the solution strength and the time of immersion can produce an almost infinite range of shades.

For the ‘French Grey’ effect on silver, scratch-brush or buff the high spots to expose the underlying silver.  Add 1 fl oz Household ammonia to preserve the mixed solution.

Brassy Bronze (1 second dip)(very iridescent)	Light Japanese bronze (3 seconds dip)	Statuary bronze (10 –20 second dip)	Dark purple (30 seconds – 2 mins)

880 Aluminum Chromate

Gives a light iridescent yellow to brown chromate finish for aluminum. Produces the maximum corrosion resistance for chromate finishes on aluminum alloys. Meets Mil-C-5541-A. Provides excellent protection for aluminum surfaces and also serves as a base which inhibits undercoat corrosion of organic top coats.

The lighter colored coatings have low electrical resistance. Concentrated liquid chromate that does not contain any ferrocyanides. It is used at 2-5% by volume @ 90-115° F. Note: Does not work well on alloys high in silicon.

Flemish Grey & Blackener

For use on copper, brass and bronze. 15% to 20% by volume solutions produce black to blackish-brown US 10B (Oil Rubbed) finishes on copper and brass with immersions of 1 to 3 minutes. Diluted 5% to 10% by volume solutions produce lighter flemish and statuary bronzes with 1 to 3 minutes of immersion. Desirable underlying red tones revealed upon highlighting the brown tones.
