| Caswell
Inc. is proud to be a distributor for Tech Line Coatings
products.
 |
Tech Line products allow virtually anyone
to benefit from advanced coating technology. Easy simple
application, using common equipment, allows the enthusiast
to duplicate the results achieved by professional shops.
Coatings offered are either air drying or if requiring
baking, utilize water as the solvent. This user friendly
approach means that no "smelly" or toxic fumes
are released during oven baking. |
Tech Line Coatings are broken down into
5 categories:
- Exhaust System Coatings
- Internal Engine Coatings
- Specialty Coatings

TECH LINE COATINGS makes available
a full range of exhaust system coatings that can
be applied at home. TECH LINE COATINGS offers
the most technologically advanced coatings on
the market. These coatings include the most popular
type of coating in use today, a metallic ceramic.
These coatings are the same products being applied
by professional coating shops and give the individual
the opportunity to benefit from this advanced
technology at both a cost and time savings.

APPLICATION: Sandblast all parts with 120 grit aluminum oxide. DO NOT USE GLASSBEAD. Clean metal using conventional cleaning methods, with acetone, lacquer thinner or other similar non-petroleum based solvent. When the surface is clean and dry, apply a thin even layer of coating using an airbrush, detail touch-up gun or other spray equipment that allows for application of a thin film of approximately .001" to .0015". Avoid excessive build-up of material as this can lead to loss of adhesion. DO NOT APPLY A SECOND COAT AFTER THE COATING DRIES. The coating will air dry to the touch in a few minutes. Install on vehicle, as the coating will cure with exaust heat.
CAUTION: Excessive exhaust heat due to a poorly tuned engine can damage the coating during the cure period. Do not install on a new engine untill all adjustments have been made to the valves, timing and jetting. Allow the engine to idle, or drive gently for approximately 30 minutes or until no vapor/smoke is given off by the coating. MAINTAIN adequate ventilation during this process.
Full cure occurs at 750F Especially effective on Turbo housings, head pipe and down tube. |

Cilgen Satin Black
- Extreme temperature exhaust system coating.
- Withstands 1700-2000 deg F
- Fully air cures in 96 hours. Can be put into use after 24 hours
- Excellent Lubrication and release properties
- Effective thermal barrier
- Can withstand direct flame without delamination
- Good adhesion to virtually all metals and some plasics
- Topcoat with Cermaseal for glossy look and improved chemical and corrosion resistance
- Topcoat not required
- No primer required
Application: All parts must be completely free of grease, oil, moisture, dust, scale or corrosion. For steel, sandblast with 80-100 grit aluminum oxide or similar. Softer metals, such as aluminum, use 100-120 grit aluminum oxide or similar at 35-40 PSI using a suction type blaster. Porous materials may need no surface prep. NOTE - Phosphating may be performed in lieu of sandblasting.
Before spraying, the part must be thoroughly cleaned using air blast, hot water rinse, solvent based rinse, or any other method that provides a clean, dry surface. DO NOT use petroleum based solvents.
Apply coating in two, light wet passes, allowing to dry to a satin appearance before applying the second coat. Do NOT allow to air dry over 20 minutes between coats.
Coating is air dry in 120 mins. 24 hours minimum cure time. Clean up with MEK, acetone or similar solvent. |

CermaSeal
CERMASEAL™ is a thin film coating designed to insulate and protect Exhaust system coatings. CERMASEAL™ reduces the oxidation that can occur on highly polished Metallic Ceramic coatings, allowing the bright chrome like finish to last much longer. CERMASEAL™ may also be applied to Cilgen Satin Black and Liquid-Powder.
CERMASEAL™ gives a mild gloss to the coated surface and seals the finished part so that it is resistant to most chemicals found in an automotive environment. CERMASEAL™ provides a smooth surface, which is easy to clean and resists staining from both fuel and oil. CERMASEAL™ may also be applied to any polished metal and some plastic surfaces. CERMASEAL™ requires no baking. CERMASEAL™ is retail packaged, to allow the Coat-It-Yourself enthusiast to take advantage of this new product. |
